Plan studiów

Program studiów ułożony jest przez doświadczony zespół praktyków, a specjalnie dla polskiej grupy zajęcia są prowadzone w języku angielskim oraz mają dodatkowe moduły zajęć teoretycznych i praktycznych pozwalających na uzupełnienie wiedzy koniecznej do ukończenia studiów. Studia są również dostępne dla lekarzy, którzy nie zdawali LEP-u. Zajęcia kliniczne organizowane są indywidualnie do potrzeb, możliwości i zainteresowań każdego z uczestników. Zajęcia teoretyczno-praktyczne są prowadzone w małych grupach we Włoszech na terenie uniwersytetu w Sienie oraz opcjonalnie w Polsce – część zajęć teoretycznych. Dodatkowo jest możliwość rozszerzania programu studiów o uczestnictwo – oglądanie zabiegów „live”.

1	Session (S. Raffaele) Relations between Prosthodontics and Periodontology. Treatment planning and chief complaint are evaluated inside prosthodontist area. Periodontal aspects related to prosthodontics and restorative dentistry will be evaluated, and explained. Physiology and periodontal diseases will be explained and surgical periodontal treatment will be shown also by video and/or live surgery procedures.
2	Session (Siena) Selection of implant-prosthodontics patients Perio-Implant-Prosthodontics treatment planning. Face bowl and articulator. Concepts on occlusions. Fundamentals of relations between implantology and prosthodontics will be evaluated and shown. Proper placement of implants, number of implants, type of bone, osteointegration concepts, ratio with prosthodontics therapy will be described. Also concepts on implant used materials will be delivered. Video will be used for better explaining the concepts
3	Session (Poland) Mastering in digital dental photography
4	Session (S. Raffeale) Immediate loading and post-extraction implants. Healing of fresh extraction sockets. Preservation of alveolar bone after tooth extraction. Post-extractive implants: limits, indications and procedures. Immediate versus delayed loading: biological rationale and clinical practice. These topics will be developed through lectures, clinical cases discussion, video and live surgery procedures
5	Session (S. Raffaele) Management of the atrophic jaws: bone augmentation procedures Physiopathology of edentulism. Classification of bone augmentation procedures. Regeneration of the alveolar process (single and multiple sites). Intra oral bone grafting. Sinus lifting procedures. Extra oral bone grafting. These topics will be developed through lectures, clinical cases discussion, video and live surgery procedures
6	Session (S. Raffaele) Management of the atrophic jaws: alternative procedures. Split crest and bone expansion techniques. Percrestal sinus lifting. Short implants. Tilted implants. These topics will be developed through lectures, clinical cases discussion, video and live surgery procedures
7	Session (S. Raffaele) Management of full edentulism: the San Raffaele ALL-at-ONCE technique Full-arch rehabilitations with axial implants. All-on-four technique. All-on-six technique. Zygomatic implants. These topics will be developed through lectures, clinical cases discussion, video and live surgery procedures
8	Session (Siena) Fixed prosthodontics on implants: simple cases. Descriptions of type of abutment connections, type of prosthesis (screw vs cemented), type of abutment finishing line, conditioning of soft tissues, role of temporaries, design of prosthesis, and an overview of used materials will be covered.
9	Session (Siena) Fixed prosthodontics on implants: complex cases Descriptions of indications and limits of screw vs cemented prosthesis, complex cases, lab work, and an overview of used materials will be covered.
10	Session (S. Raffaele) Digital dentistry in implant-prosthodontics How digital dentistry can help implant-prosthodontic procedures: indications, limits and procedures. CAD-CAM techniques Digital impression in implant-prosthodontics Virtual planning of the implant patient and computer-guided implantology The digital smile design in implantology Participants will be able to work with pc and software to make virtual projects. Video and live surgery procedures will be performed.
11	Session (S. Raffaele) Final considerations Surgical complications in oral implantology Clinical cases and take home messages. Final test. Discussion concerning MASTER dissertations

Cały program studiów jest otoczony zindywidualizowaną opieką nad grupą, a do dyspozycji są wszyscy pracownicy uniwersytetu, co daje doskonały kontakt z wykładowcami. Zajęcia kliniczne organizowane są indywidualnie do potrzeb, możliwości i zainteresowań każdego z uczestników. Istnieje możliwość indywidualnej pomocy w przygotowywaniu przypadków i dokumentacji, koniecznych do ukończenia studiów. Jako, że studia odbywają się w pięknie położonej Sienie w samym sercu przepięknej Toskanii istnieje możliwość organizacji wyjazdu z osobami towarzyszącymi.
